I woke up this morning and checked my eamil, to find that one of the people I'm living with(in college supplied housing) will not be coming back to school in the fall. Ack. Allyson thinks that they'll let us keep the house, even with 3 people instead of 4, but I'm going to email Student Life just in case.
Steve's birthday party: It was the sort of party that I never would have gone to in high school. Item one for the defense: the chess game, played with shot glasses. If your side captured a piece, you had to drink it... It was fun, but I definitely wouldn't want all the social gatherings I went to to be like that. I managed to burn my hand. Some one decided to put sparklers(!) on the cake instead of candles, and when they were finished sparkling, the magnesium crumbled and fell onto the cake. I reached out to grab on of the sparkler sticks, so as to fish the crumbled magnesium out of the frosting and accidentally grabbed the stick by the top, which was still very hot. The blisters are on my thumb and my first finger, but fortunately not where the pencil rests.
After things had wound down, I went to Lisa's house to sleep. She hadn't had a very good time, between it not really being her kind of thing, the presence of her ex and his new lover, and cramps, and spent much of it curled up asleep on a couch in the dining room. I do have a picture of her though watching the chess game and smiling. I feel bad about encouraging her to come.
I have cute pictures of other people as well, which I will eventually post(yes, along with an organized version of all the other pictures - apparently, Apache :: Gallery is going to love me).
Parents still in Medusa. They may however be coming back this evening instead of late tomorrow morning. Much homework must be done. Test on Tuesday. Afterwards, I will actually get the home network properly set up and erect Sabriel in my room and make her workstationish(she currently only has a very minimal install of NetBSD, as she didn't have network access, and I'm planning on fleshing out the NetBSD install and installing Gentoo Linux).
Also: Liz, when are you going back to California? Please tell me it wasn't today, although I fear it was, as I'd really like to see you before then.
